WHO WE ARE:
We’re not a club! The Horsham Car and Bike Show committee consists of about half a dozen blokes who simply love all things automotive – and raising money for kids and families in need.
At this show, the emphasis is on having a chat, taking it easy.. and enjoying a nice casual day, looking at a bunch of cars and bikes!
Sure, everybody has their personal preferences – make, model, style, colour. …but we want them all!
From old Harleys to new Holdens.. from award-winning paintjobs to stonechips and bog – the Horsham Car and Bike Show is for all vehicles great and small.
If it’s just a little different.. something you don’t see every day.. special in some certain way – it’s welcome here!
WHY WE DO THIS:
So, what’s this ‘WACK’ thing all about?
Wimmera Against Cancer in Kids is a not-for-profit organisation – helping regional families who have a child with cancer.
WACK can provide financial assistance to ease the burden associated with traveling to & from Melbourne for treatment, with things like fuel and grocery vouchers.
WACK is a regular contributor to Ronald McDonald House, which provides an invaluable accommodation service to families whose children are being treated at the Royal Childrens Hospital.
Donations from WACK have sponsored a room at Ronald McDonald House for many years, and helped with the purchase of vital equipment at the Royal Childrens Hospital.
The committee of the Horsham Car and Bike Show have all – directly or indirectly – been touched by the work of Ronald McDonald House, Royal Childrens Hospital and WACK.
Running the annual car & bike show is our way of saying thanks, and showing appreciation for these amazing organisations.
The Horsham Car and Bike Show started in 2000, as a way for automotive enthusiasts to get behind a great local cause.
At Horsham City Oval for several years, the show moved to Sawyer Park – which was a more practical venue for both entrants and spectators.
Unfortunately, years of drought had made this a somewhat dusty choice. For two years in a row, we had temperatures in the 40’s come show day, and it was decided a more versatile location was needed.
You could say May Park is tailor-made for the Horsham Car and Bike Show.
Beautifully maintained by the Horsham Rural City Council, it boasts a vast open lawn area, plenty of shade, a great playground for the kids, and toilet facilities. There’s easy access for vehicles (even seriously lowered ones!) and plenty of surrounding parking for the public.
It’s conveniently located on the Western Highway, within an easy walk of a range of dining options, hotels and shopping.
